Our services

We provide reward-based dog training and behaviour consultancy. In-person sessions take place at your home or outdoors in a location local to you, we are a service-area business and have no premises for clients to attend. Remote 1-to-1 sessions are delivered by live video. Self-paced online courses and the monthly membership are delivered by third-party course platforms under their own terms.

Enquiries and bookings

We aim to respond to enquiries within 48 hours, though it can occasionally take slightly longer due to enquiry volume. Sending an enquiry does not create a booking; a booking is confirmed once we have agreed the service, the fee and a date with you. We accept direct enquiries as well as veterinary referrals.

Fees and payment

1-to-1 sessions can be booked individually or as a block, and are quoted per case based on what your dog needs. The fee is confirmed with you before the work is booked. Online course prices range from £30 to £150 and the ongoing membership is £43 per month, charged by the course platform. Payment terms for 1-to-1 work are agreed at the point of booking.

Cancellations and rescheduling

A cancellation is any appointment that cannot be met at the arranged date, time and location. Our notice terms are:

• Cancelled within 2 calendar days of the appointment: the full fee is charged.
• Cancelled within 3 calendar days of the appointment: 50% of the fee is charged.
• Cancellation fees are applied in all instances, without exception.
• Any credit held must be used within 2 months of the date of your first appointment.

If we have to move a session, for example due to weather that would make outdoor work unsafe or unproductive, we will offer an alternative date at no extra cost.

Methods we use and will not use

All of our work is reward-based and positive reinforcement led: no fear, no pain, no startle. We do not use prong collars, e-collars (shock collars), slip leads or check chains under any circumstances, and we will not continue with a case where an owner insists on the use of aversive equipment alongside our plan.

Your responsibilities

• Give us an accurate history, including any bite, injury or livestock incident, and any known medical condition or medication.
• Follow the written plan between sessions and keep the agreed management in place. Progress depends on the consistency applied by everyone handling the dog.
• Maintain your own responsibilities as a dog owner in law, including control in public, and comply with any notice or order that applies to your dog.
• Consult your vet where pain or illness may be involved. Behaviour work supports veterinary care; it does not replace it, and we do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication.

Outcomes and liability

Behaviour is influenced by genetics, health, history, environment and household consistency, so we do not offer guarantees of a specific outcome, timescale or the elimination of a behaviour. What we do commit to is a proper assessment, an honest opinion, a staged written plan and reward-based methods throughout. We hold public liability insurance and professional care-of-custody cover for handling dogs. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Expert witness and report work

Independent behavioural assessments and expert witness reports are provided on the basis of the evidence available and professional opinion. Such work is instructed and quoted separately, and the duty in any report is to give an impartial opinion. The conclusion cannot be agreed in advance.
