Because a garden builds fitness, not social skill. Dogs exercised mainly at home often have very little practice at passing other dogs, waiting calmly near people or settling somewhere unfamiliar. We rebuild that exposure in graded steps and change what the garden is used for.
Rouken Glen is too busy for my reactive dog. What do you suggest?
Timing and route selection are part of the plan, not an afterthought. We identify the quieter hours and quieter loops your dog can currently succeed in, then increase difficulty deliberately as the behaviour improves rather than hoping a busy Saturday goes well.
Can you help with chasing sheep or deer around Eaglesham?
Yes. Chasing livestock is a legal and welfare matter, so we start with strict long-line management to stop the rehearsal, then build recall value and impulse control. We do not use e-collars for this, or for anything else.
My dog panics when everyone leaves for school and work. Is that separation anxiety?
